INTRODUCTION OF THE 17TH PATRIARCH LU

Patriarch Lu, whose first name was Zhongyi, was also known as Tonglizi. He was born on the 24th day of the fourth month of the Chinese lunar calendar in 1848, in Jining County, Shandong Province, China. He was the incarnation of Maitreya Buddha and became Jingong Patriarch after his passing. In his childhood, Patriarch Lu lost his parents and lived in poverty. He was leading a difficult life with his sister when he joined the army at the age of 22.

In 1895, Patriarch Lu was miraculously told by God in his dreams that it was time for him to seek the 16th Patriarch Liu to attain the Great Tao. Therefore, Patriarch Lu followed the instructions of God and found Patriarch Liu. He gave all of his savings to Patriarch Liu to show his sincerity and was able to attain the Great Tao. He then followed Patriarch Liu to cultivate the Great Tao within himself and experienced many hardships during that time.

In 1905, God mandated Patriarch Lu to be the 17th Patriarch to continue the Lineage of Tao. This mandate signifies the transition from the Red Stage to the White Stage. Thus, Patriarch Lu started to propagate the Great Tao in Jining and was able to transmit the Tao to many people in the Shandong area.

Patriarch Lu passed away at the age of 77 on the 2nd day of the second month of the Chinese lunar calendar in 1925. God bestowed upon Patriarch Lu the title "Jingong Patriarch" after his passing. Starting on the 3rd day of the third month of the Chinese lunar calendar in 1926, the spirit of Patriarch Lu demonstrated a wondrous miracle by borrowing the body of a person named Yang, Chunling for 100 days to give revelations. This miracle marked the beginning of the usage of medium to propagate Tao.
