Words from Holy Teacher

The Differences Between Saints and Human Beings.

Some people have power in their hands, and are unwilling to pass it on to others. This is caused by their own selfish desire. Thus it will produce phenomena such as contention for power. When they have profits at hand, they will only consider their own enjoyment. This is caused by their material desire. Thus it produces something like a competition for profits.

If one can put oneself in the other person's shoes all of the time, then all undesirable events will be expelled, all extreme anger will be dissolved; if in all circumstances one could think about other people, then one's motive for self-profit will be dispelled, and one's sympathy will grow and increase.

FAQs
Q: Why did God send us here to earth?

A: In terms of understanding Tao we should not frame it in something that simple.
One explanation might be that we are here to govern the world. However, if you really think about how would this explanation help us knowing it, perhaps it is better to use our wisdom to reflect and meditate upon this question rather than ask another person or being for an answer. But thinking about this question too much would be like seeing only the spokes on the wheel of the automobile instead of seeing the whole car.

Don't limit yourself to seeing Tao as having a time frame. It is beyond all dimensions that we can imagine. Think of Tao as the ocean and think of us as waves on the ocean surface. It comes and goes. Cultivation basically means knowing the ocean and being one with it in terms of your thoughts. Every action that you do regardless whether it is at work, school, temple, or any other place, you need to be one with the ocean. Anything that does come from your True Nature, you are a true cultivator. When everything you do is not coming from your True Nature, it is wrong because it has "ME" in it.

When we attach to "ME," we are not perfect.

Q: Is there a Heaven?

A: Think Heaven as a state of mind. Everyone comes from a different background so the term Heaven is different from one person to the next person. So is there a heaven (a place) where you can go after you pass away? Perhaps there is. But in reality, heaven is just a state of mind. What is that state of mind? The state of mind is that your every thought is from your True Nature.

Heaven is right here!
