A Window to Life-

Once there was a couple on a train. The husband is courteous in manner while the wife is acting rather offensive to others on the train. She keeps on complaining. "Oh, the seats are NOT clean enough," she yells with discontent. In the next second, she begins to criticize the service on the train. She complains about every insignificant detail about the train. It seems like nothing could ever please her.

Politely, the husband greets to the people, who sit next to him. When the people ask him what profession he is in, he replies, "I'm an engineer and my wife is a generator." With great curiosity, the people ask, "What exactly does your wife generate?" The husband replies with a smile, "She is specialized in generating unhappiness."

In life, we all have choices. Every morning, immediately after we wake up, we face two choices-facing the day with a positive or negative attitude. Sure, life is full of surprises. As a result, the rhythm of life could sometimes be interrupted by the unexpected visitors. Whether we're at our ups or downs, we still have these two choices each morning.

In the aftermath of the September tragedy, I had often found myself in an unexplainably depressing mood. One afternoon, as I was moving along with the lingering homeward traffic, I suddenly spotted a sight of an airplane flying towards one of the skyscrapers in LA downtown. At that very moment, my blood vessels were about to freeze because the shocking image of NYC sky popped into my mind. Quietly, I sat there in my car with my slightly trembling hands as the plane flew across that not-so-clear downtown sky. A long sigh came out of my dehydrated mouth. All of a sudden, the sky of LA downtown became clearer than ever. The skyscrapers stood tall with great pride. The prolonged homeward traffic suddenly became lovely.

The air is indeed polluted and harmful to our health. The skyscrapers could be a problem when a major earthquake hits. And the traffic is always endless and unavoidable in LA. So, what!? I'm going home. Fortunately, I still get a home to go back to.

And, most importantly, I'm still A.L.I.V.E.
